How long does a fridge van’s refrigeration unit last?

Servicing decides it, not age. A well-looked-after unit will run for years. A neglected one won’t see half that, and the failures are almost always avoidable.

What kills them early

  • Skipped services.
  • Blocked or dirty condensers.
  • Running a unit harder than it was specced for. Buy short on temperature and you’re working it flat out every day.

Every refrigeration unit we fit in a conversion comes with at least a 12-month warranty: 12 months on GAH and Hubbard units, 24 months on Thermo King and Zanotti. Not sure how cold you need to go? Read chiller, freezer or deep freeze.
