A chiller van holds 0 to 5°C, for meat, dairy, produce, flowers and most catering. A freezer van runs at -10°C, for frozen goods. Deep freeze goes down to -25°C, for ice cream, anything that must stay hard-frozen and some pharmaceutical products. Read chiller, freezer or deep freeze?

Our refrigerated vans can work anywhere from +21°C down to -25°C, depending on the refrigeration unit specified and what you’re carrying.

The insulated lining is 50mm for a chiller van and 75mm for a freezer van.

A conversion takes 7 to 10 days from the van arriving at our premises. Depending on production and stock, it can sometimes be done sooner. Talk to our sales team about timings for your van.

We fit units from GAH, Thermo King, Hubbard and Zanotti. GAH is the make we fit most often.

GAH and Hubbard units come with a 12-month warranty. Thermo King and Zanotti units come with a 24-month warranty.

Electric standby lets the fridge unit run from a mains supply with the van’s engine switched off, so you can load the night before or park all day at an event. It has to be specified from the start: it can’t be added after the conversion is finished. Read do you need electric standby?

Yes, there are two ways. A recessed condenser pod sits the unit down into the roofline, so it barely shows and the van is lower; it has to be specified before the conversion, as it can’t be added afterwards. We also work with refrigeration makers who offer an under-bonnet option for some vans. Please talk to our sales team, as it depends on the make and model of van.

Payload is the maximum weight the van can carry, allowing for the weight of a driver. It varies with each make and model, and the conversion affects it: a freezer’s thicker lining weighs more than a chiller’s. Tell our sales team what you carry and they’ll recommend the make and model to suit.

Yes. We can source the complete package, the van and the conversion together, and finance is available on it. New vans come as cancelled factory orders, or built to your spec.

It depends on your budget, how soon you need the van and how you want it specced. Used vans cost less, and we convert and check them before delivery. New vans come with the manufacturer’s warranty and are either cancelled factory orders, or built to your spec. Read new or used fridge van?

Our used vans come with a warranty on the van (what’s left of the maker’s, or 12 months, which can be extended), plus 12 or 24 months on the fridge unit, and our engineers check every van before it leaves us. New vans come with the manufacturer’s warranty, plus 12 or 24 months on the fridge unit, depending on its make. The only exception is a part-exchange van we’re clearing: those are sold as seen with no warranty, and the advert says so.

Yes. Finance is available for business customers from a £500 +VAT deposit, on hire purchase or lease, subject to status. See finance.

Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, Northern Ireland included.

The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) covers every London borough, 24 hours a day, every day except Christmas Day. A van up to 3.5 tonnes that doesn’t meet the standard (Euro 6 for diesel, Euro 4 for petrol) pays £12.50 a day. Every advert shows whether the van is ULEZ compliant. Read are you ULEZ compliant?

In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, chilled food must by law be kept at 8°C or below, and the Food Standards Agency recommends 5°C or below. Quick-frozen food must be kept at -18°C or colder. Read transporting food in your refrigerated van.
