Cut flowers travel at 2 to 5°C, and once they’ve been warm there’s no saving them. Wilt sets in, and re-cooling at the other end won’t undo it.

The bit most florists don’t know: a fridge unit with heating holds the temperature both ways. It cools the load space in July and warms it in January, so frost on a winter morning is no more of a threat than a heatwave.

And the timing problem: wedding season is summer. Your biggest orders of the year travel in the worst conditions, and the van is what gets them there looking like they left the shop.

The setup

A chiller spec with a 50mm insulated lining, with shelving in the load space to suit how you carry. See our flower delivery vans.

Tell us how you carry your flowers and we’ll spec it to suit. Call us on 01444 245555.
