Food wholesale refrigerated vans, first drop to last.

Food wholesalers and distributors running daily rounds to shops, restaurants and takeaways need a van that's out all day on a multi-drop route. It has to hold its temperature from the first drop to the last, and carry a full load legally.

  • Temperature Chiller, freezer or both: +21°C to −25°C
  • Size Medium for city rounds, large for full loads
  • Worth adding Moveable bulkhead, curtains, pallet runners

Chiller, freezer or both

Most wholesalers run chiller vans, with freezer vans for frozen lines. Our refrigerated vans can work anywhere from +21°C down to −25°C, depending on the fridge unit fitted. If you carry chilled and frozen goods on the same round, a bulkhead between the two compartments lets one van do both.

Built for multi-drop rounds

  • Side and rear door curtains, to keep the cold in on every drop.
  • Moveable bulkhead, so you can change the size of each compartment to suit the day’s orders.
  • Pallet protection runners, aluminium strips on the floor, for when pallets go in and out.
  • T-bar protection bumper, to protect the back of the van when it’s loaded by forklift.
  • Load lock rails, bolted along the sides, to stop the load moving.
  • A side loading door, to reach the front of the load without unloading the back.
  • Electric standby, so the fridge can run with the engine off while the van is parked up and loaded. It has to be specified before the conversion, as it can’t be added afterwards.
  • Load temperature recorder, which prints a receipt as evidence the load was held at the right temperature on the way.
  • A calibration certificate for the temperature display, for your food safety paperwork.

Payload matters

Wholesale loads are heavy, so payload is often what decides the van. Large vans suit full loads; medium vans suit lighter rounds and city deliveries. Small vans include the Mercedes Citan and Ford Transit Connect; medium vans the Ford Transit Custom, Renault Trafic and Mercedes Vito; and large vans the Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, Renault Master and Citroën Relay. We help you choose by the inside size after conversion and the payload, not just the size of the van.
